After a hard hike up and down de SF's hills, we reach Russian Hill. It is the roughest hill of the city, 27% so they billed a curly road droping at 16% but still very impressive.
Then Nobe hill, the snobbish district with very nice houses.
Copieur!
On the border between Nob Hill and Union district, we fall infront of a pale reproduction of Notre Dame de Paris, grace Cathedral, unforgivable!
We come back to the hostel exhausted, the SF's hills are really hard with you when you're walking.
Chinatown
La porte de chinatown |
We start the day with chinatown, streets are empty, it is too early in the day, we'll come back later. To be known, this is the second biggest chinatown of the USA after the NYC one.
Alcatraz
It served as a lighthouse, then a military fortification, then a military prison followed by a federal prison until 1963. It became a national recreation area in 1972 and received landmarking designations in 1976 and 1986.
Today, the island is a historic site operated by the National Park Service as part of the Golden Gate National Park Area and is open to tours.
